In the poem "We Real Cool", the author, Gwendolyn Brooks describes students that constantly take high risks and put themselves in danger unknowingly. At first, Brooks starts with mild to medium risks such as, skipping school and staying out late at night. The author then progresses to higher risks, like drinking gin. This shows that the students started with the smaller risks, and didn't even realize it led to dangerous outcomes. I personally like this
