Private Schools versus Public
It has been said that it is better for kids to go to a smaller school, instead of a city school, but since transferring my daughter I have found that not to be true for every one. December 2001 I had to transfer my daughter out of the City School system into the Private School system. Since I went through the Private School system, I didn't think it would be a bad move. But since my daughter has been in Private School I have had nothing but problems with the school. Being a smaller school their atmosphere is geared toward a private school mentality when it is a public school. It has been said that it is better for kids to go to a smaller school instead of a city school, but since transferring my daughter I have not found that to be true. The first problem I have found wrong with Private School is that they are not prepared for the rising population of children. Another reason that I feel that City Schools are better is because Private Schools has outrageous classroom fees. When my daughter first started kindergarten at Private, I was sent a note home saying that there was a classroom fee of thirty-six dollars. Knowing that this is a public school, I didn't understand this fee. Talking to the administrator I learned that this is for workbooks that the class needed. And if the fee is not paid, the student will not receive his or her report card. In contrast, at the city school there was only a one-time fee of ten dollars, which there is no penalty for not paying this fee. The hours AT Private are different that
