The Necklace

The Necklace is a story by Guy De Maupassant, translated by Edgar V. Robert. Mathilde is a young woman, who is married to Loisel. He is a clerk in the Ministry of Education. They both lived in the middle class, but Mathilde always dreamed of having a big house and live in luxury. Her husband cannot fulfill her fantasy because he works for minimum wage.
