My views on God VS Jonathan Edwards' views on God

My thoughts on God vary from day to day. I guess my views on the subject change with my mood. When I'm in a good mood and everything is going well, I tend to think there is an existence of a higher power. There are days, though, when it seems like the whole world is against me; and these are the days that I wonder about the existence of a higher power. When I read Jonathan Edwards' sermon, I was a bit shocked that anyone could have such extremist views. His thoughts on God and mine vary considerably. I agree with a few things he said, but for the most part, I disagreed with his point of views.

In contrast, he thinks there is only one way to avoid Hell; I believe there is more than that. He also believes that once you become a sinner, there is no turning back. I don't believe that at all. I think that "God" is very forgiving; I don't think he holds grudges. If He did, we would all go to Hell, and he'd have no one to hang out with

Nor do I believe God "holds us over the pit of hell." That just doesn't strike me as something any god would do. Jonathan also says we are "abominable" in his eyes. Why would he see us like that? He's the one that created us. If we're abominable, then so is He, because we were supposedly created in His image.

every thing you ever did wrong. I think that he will forgive you no matter what it is that you did; as long as you are honestly sorry.

water loose" on them? They're his followers, so why would he want to harm them at all?

Jonathan also says we have offended God infinitely. I don't agree with this, either. He loves everyone, right? I would think so. This goes back to God not holding grudges on us. He tells the sinners to be wary of the fiery pits of Hell. Is it not believed in the Christian faith that all humans are sinners? Does that mean we're all damned to Hell? He also says that it's God's decision to protect us fr
