Joshua

A detailed Summary of Joshua

In the book Joshua the author explains how Jesus would be portrayed in our world today through his main character Joshua. Joshua is a normal man who lives in the small town of Auburn. The residents of this town are people who have mainly spent most of their lives together since childhood. But for Joshua being an outsider is a big disadvantage for him if he would like to socialize with the others, though it doesn't seem to matter to him much.

Joshua would be there to lend an ear and give advice especially to Marcia Klein who enjoyed his companionship and found his advice to be useful. Upon Joshua's arrival in Auburn he stirs up a lot o

His ways of life are simple and at the same time unique. He mostly keeps to himself and doesn't disrupt the peace in town. His physical features are striking to Katherine Sanders who runs a local store where her husband George as well as a few others spend their time. Many try to find ways into reaching out to Joshua but the first person to socialize with him is Charlie the mailman. Joshua is a common carpenter whose work is realized by the synagogue who receives a sculpture of Moses. What many people who admire Joshua's work like is how he is able to capture the emotion of the sculpture. His work is even noticed by Father Darby who is a very large man and no matter what the situation is he is optimistic about it. Though he is very arrogant and thinks highly of himself in which he puts himself above everyone else
