Comparison Essay (Diary Anne Frank)

The Diary of Anne Frank is about a teenager growing up and sorting out her feelings under very difficult conditions. In 1942, when the Nazi's began to invade their country, the Frank family tried to escape by going into hiding in an attic of a warehouse. Otto and Edith Frank and their daughters Margot and Anne hid in this building on the Prinsengracht, Amsterdam. They were later joined by Mr. and Mrs. Van Daan, their son Peter and Mr. Dussel. During the hiding period Anne Frank kept a diary throughout their horrible ordeal. In it she described daily life in the back of the Secret Annex; the isolation and the fear of discovery. Even though Anne suffered so much her courage and character only grew stronger. Before Anne Frank went into hiding, she led a blissful and joyous life. She was always surrounded by friends and her family. She was torn away from her happiness and placed into the harsh and cruel reality of the Nazi agenda at only the age of thirteen. Such repression and life of fear would make almost any teenager completely depressed and more miserable that words can express. However, Anne managed to keep hope for a better tomorrow. Because of her cheerfulness and undying courage, Anne was able to keep up t
