Every year, a new collection of inquiring minds are set off on the journey of post-secondary education, an experience everyone should have the chance to discover. Adjusting to this new atmosphere is a whole learning process on its own. Many students are returning from some time off; 1 year, maybe 20 years; who may finds themselves with some mixed feelings about the change. Students may react to this change in many ways; as well, they will have to deal with different methods of teaching, possibly different from those of their secondary-school education.
Obviously, we will find many students who are returning from a year-or two, off. These students are likely to overreact to large workloads and longer class times, which are considerably more than high school. Students may stump themselves into believing they are in a 'comfort z
Immediately following this change from the working world, back to school, we find the students reactions. These reactions are mostly towards teachers, peers, and learning, in a very positive way. A short series of questions was given to random students around campus. The consensus was that most students were enjoying making new friends, not worried about how their grades may turn out; nor whether or not they will continue with the program after the first set of marks are released. In my experiences so far, I have met one of the smartest men I have ever met, made friends in all of my classes, and I find myself anxious to get to school, everyday.
