History of PE

While going up, sports were a big influence in my life. There was not a day that went by that I would have to go outside and throw either the football or baseball around with my dad whenever he got home from work. In my early years all sports were to me was going across the street and gathering a group of friends and playing a pick-up game of football, basketball, or the game loved by all youth's, kickball. Nevertheless, growing older the games have not changed too much, but the level of competition has and also the ability that the people played it at. Through out school I have always been involved in sports whether it being involved in an extra-curricular sport outside of school or just playing games at recess during school. There has always been a time that I am playing a sport and there will always be a time when I am playing a sport the only question is; what sport will I be playing? Over time, I have learned many sports and have implemented them throughout my life from elementary school all the way until college.

Even before I had started school sports were a big part of my life, actually even when I was just a little baby I was involved in sports; having to deal with my father being a college football coach. So there rea

During the years of 3rd, 4th and 5th grade, the games became even more competitive. Those games were dodge ball and capture the flag. The reason those games were put into the curriculum was to involve the class as a whole and to allow the participants to work together as a team. The reason that those games were not involved earlier in the education process was the fact that there was a high risk of injury. Those games would be perfect for a young child because during the ages of kindergarten, 1st and 2nd the children need to have a better understanding of teamwork and sharing. That fact was that those games were very violent and involved many injuries. Therefore, the school board did not want to have to deal with disgruntled parents so they made it a part of the upper elementary physical education. During those upper elementary days, the education also allowed the education of basic sporting activities. Those few sports were football, soccer and other basic sports that all kids should so what understand how to play. For me those three years of upper elementary days were the best because I was always the more athletic of my class and was the better participant, plus I already knew how to play those game from my father or from hanging out with my friends and their older brothers. Hose were the exact games that we used to play in the park across the street from my house before I started going to school.

lly has never been a time that sports was not a part of my life. When I was old enough to be a part of the game then I was. Whenever my dad would come home from work, we would always play football or baseball. When school came around that is when I learned the new sports or more competitive games. This was when I learned how be involved in a relay race or just a race in general. During the Elementary school years was when it was involved in individual competition and strength while involving some team activity. The best thing that I was ever involved during my elem
