After going to the Regional Art Center I came to the art opening here in the art building. It was very different being here at night than during the day. The food was a little better they had brownies, corn chips, cheese dip, grapes, cantaloupe, and a vegetable dish with baby carrots, cherry tomatoes, and celery with ranch dressing. I'm not sure what I was drinking because it tasted like wine but it had a sweat taste to it which was better than the wine I had before.
When I got there I was not sure what to expect since I did not know what was going to be on exhibit. After going around once to look at everything I noticed that each exhibit used these materials in a combination or by themselves such as bicycle inner tubes, wrapping tape, stainless steel wire, or gasket rubber. It was neat to see how each person used these type of materials to create such imaginati
There were several pieces that I found interesting like "Free At Last" which was made of dry cleaner bags, wrapping tape. I liked how the shape of the person was still visible as if they just had gotten out of it. It must have been a good feeling to be released from it because you have no freedom to move around or do anything at all. What I got out of it is that your freedom can sometimes be taken away but you can escape and regain your freedom. The "Hobbler" was another piece that I liked which made of steel rod, stainless steel wire, plastic ties, and gasket rubber but I'm not to sure what it's suppose to be. To me it looks like a giant bird cage for a mutant bird. The "Hobbled Memories" were 12 pairs of deformed high heel shoes in a circle wrapped with bicycle inner tubes.
