How can a troubled, young girl escape from situations she started? In Arthur Miller's The Crucible, the plot is based on situations brought up by Abby's sniveling, sneaky ways. Her lies caused much of the chaos in Salem. She dug her own pit of troubles. Abigail is a liar, leader, and is bossy.

Many times during the story, Abby told numerous lies. "'She comes to me every night to go and drink blood'" (Miller 847) is one of Abigail's lies. She told the village that Tituba forced her to drink the blood and participate in the witchcraft.
