Eminem

"Eminem is a disgrace to the music industry!" is what some would say. Many others also believe that he is a very talented man. There are many controversies surrounding this famous rapper, father, and actor. Eminem is one of the most controversial people ever to take the stage. But like many other controversial musicians, he is a very successful rapper. Who else has his style of lyrics? the answer is no one. There will never be another Eminem, and he is truly different from any other musician. Few can rap like him, and many want to be him. Eminem is a rap star, and nobody can take that away from him. He has a talent that deserves to be heard from around the world. Many controversies surrounding Eminem would include the following: his mother, daughter, and gay people. Believe it or not, Eminem can benefit from people misunderstanding him. The more people that discover his unique style and talent, the more money he will make. There are some political people that dislike him, as well as parents. Other than all of these controversies, he also motivates millions of listeners through his lyrics. Parents teach their children not to judge others. Those same parents are judging Eminem. However, as an American he deserves

Eminem did not have the best life growing up, but he made the most of what he had. His real name is Marshall Mathers, and he was born in Kansas City. When Eminem was very young, his father walked out on the family. He was too young even to remember when his dad had left him and his mom. In his song "Criminal" he said, "As he split, I wonder if he even kissed me goodbye." Growing up, him and his mom were always on the move. They moved several times from Kansas City to Detroit. From the result of Eminem moving every so often, it was hard for him to keep stable friends. When he was in high school, he would always "battle" (one person freestyles to another person, and they see who is the better freestyler, by making fun of whoever is against them) the other students. Later, Eminem decided to drop out of high school. After freestyling at a radio station in Los Angeles, the famous Dr. Dre noticed this new talent and was very impressed with Eminem's ability to rap. He then set out a manhunt for this fresh new talent, Eminem. Dr. Dre then signed Eminem to his record label Aftermath (Biography).

When somebody in the music business is different from the rest, they start to receive recognition. Eminem is extremely different from any one, so he receives plenty of attention. Not only from angry parents, but also the FCC and the government. The more the government bashes Eminem, the more recognition he will get. This can only result in him selling more records. If he keeps selling records, he has no reason to stop doing what he is good at. The more controversy surrounding him, the more famous he will become. Eminem said in the song "White America," "Now they're sayin' I'm in trouble with the government, I'm lovin' it!" It is a simple concept, the more controversies he has surrounding him, the richer he will become. He is aware of this, and he is also using this to his advantage. Eminem knows many people dislike him, but he knows it is all part of the music business. Not everybody can approve of Eminem, but they cannot do anything about his lyrics. He will keep writing the same way, and nobody will ever get him to stop. This is just something the public will have to accept.

Many people do not support Eminem. There are many that dislike him. They say that his music is rude, violent; he dislikes gay people, and so on. They say that he is full of hate, and he is a disgrace to the music industry. Those are the same people who do not listen to his songs. Those are the people who just listen to the songs played on the radio. They judge what kind of person is from what they hear on his songs, from the media, and from their friends. People judge him, and that is not very fair to him. They should speak their minds after hearing more of his songs, and when they know more about him. If people judged everybody, then there would not be a single place to live that is pleasant. Many people misunderstand Eminem. If they took the time to get to know who he is, they would see he is not so bad. He states in many of his songs that his lyrics are not meant to be taken seriously. If people do not listen to what he has to say, then they do not have any room to talk badly about him.

Many people do not approve of Eminem's music. One of those many people is Lynne Cheney. She released a rather rude comment about Eminem. She showed that she dislikes him greatly. Lynne Cheney is known to speak out against him. She believes his music is "full of hate, and that he glorifies the violence against women and gay people" (Ting 1). In many of his songs, he also comes out to say that he is just joking towards the violence pointing to women. He also said in the song "Criminal," I'm just playin' ladies you know I love you." Also, just as stated before, he does indeed like gay people. If she would take the time to listen to all of his songs, rather than the ones played only on the radio, she would see that he is not what he
