Religious influence on muslims, Byzantines and EruopeansI

No topic has influenced art or the world in general more than religion. Theology, the study of the nature of god and religious truth, has an important impact on art. Excellent groups to juxtapose in order to prove this are The Byzantine, the Muslims and Middle age Europeans.

In the case of the Byzantine, art was treated almost as if it was sacred in and of itself. Artists painted scenes with religious significance. The characters were dressed in immaculate garbs but were simple and static themselves. This fact shows how the Byzantine viewed themselves as humble and insignificant when compared to god. To further emphasize this point they rarely singed or dated their work. While this makes historians work more difficult it

The site of this dome is believed to be of special religious significance to the Muslims. It is said to be the place where Adam is entombed and Abraham ascended to heaven. Other religious influences are evident in the mosque Of Damascus. The mosque had previously served as both a pagan temple and a Christian Church.
