Don't try to touch your toes. Just bring your arm in the T position. Watch closely.
I have a tip to help you with your toe touches. Sit in a straddle position with your toes pointed (of course) and your arms straight up in the air (no certain position). Then, SMOOTHLY bring your legs up as high as possible and bring your arms down (for momentum). Do 20, or more, every night and better jumps are guaranteed (if you do these right). This exercise works the quads.

It is very important to improve your stamina as well as your strength. I always run two miles a day, and lift weights. By doing certain leg exercises I increase my ability to jump higher.....check out your schools weight room and try using the squating bar. This really improves your jumping ability, also jump rope a lot...this also improves your jumping ability. If you run or do stationary bike you will increase your stamina which is crucial for jumps. I always finish up my workout by doing situps. You must remember to do the situps for the upper, lower, and side (oblique) muscles.
