1. A Bisy Backson can be compared to a person who runs around trying to escape his shadow and his footprints. He does this because he craves a solution to this problem and cannot live with himself until he solves the problem. He may even do this until he dies, as the book suggests. A Taoist will be simple and wander into the shade where his shadow will disappear. He will stand still and let his footprints disappear too. This is the author's example of how we should be more like the Taoist and not like the Backson.
