Jack London (1817-1916) his complete name was John Griffith London and he was born in San Francisco. He wrote more than 50 books, but the most famous book is the one I've been reading, Except writing books Jack wrote novels, plays and newspaper articles. Many of his stories are about how hard life can be, for both animals and human beings.
He had a lot of experience because he has had a lot of different jobs. Among other things Jack was a gold-digger, hunter and a tramp.
It was the autumn 1897 when some people find gold in Alaska. After that more and more people wanted to go there to search after more gold, to get rich.
