A detailed Summary of My Antonia


In the novel My 聲tonia, written by Willa Cather, we are introduced to an immigrant family named the Shimerdas and their daughter 聲tonia. Cather makes it clear that strength of characters can overcome all hardship. Throughout 聲tonia's lifetime there are many tribulations and sufferings that affect 聲tonia. 聲tonia's life is filled with suffering, but in the end her strong self does endure.

The first misfortune which befalls 聲tonia, is the one of her father's untimely death. Her father committed suicide because he was disheartened by his inability to
