A Perfect Society

A detailed Summary of A Perfect Society

In the year 2054, the estimated world population will be 15 million. The world is estimated to be able to sustain a maximum of this amount of people. After this limit has been exceeded, we will all become desperate for food and the poorer nations will suffer the most. Eventually the world will no longer be able to accommodate any of us, and we will all eventually die, taking many other species down with us.

To counter this, we have derived a plan to save the world by controlling our population growth rate. We will cut the current death rate of 54 million to below 50 million, and the birth rate from 156 million to 60 million. We will accomplish this by limiting the amount of families that are allowed to have children, including the number of children these selected families can give birth to. This will allow for an annual population growth of less than half of the current one, effectively expanding our lifetime on this planet by a minimum of ten fold. Every other family is permitted one child. Once one child has been born no more are allowed. If a family wants they may give up their child for another family. Certain babies will be stopped from having children, others will not.

Currently we also let the media and other groups of people's opinions be voiced and debated amongst us. In our new society, such corruption will never be an issue, because those groups will never be given the opportunity to speak out against what we are trying to accomplish.
