Buddish and Yoga
Yoga and Buddhism evolved in the same spiritual culture of ancient India. They use many of the same terms and follow many of the same principles and practices. Millions of people throughout the world today practice yoga for spiritual reasons. Through yoga they contact their higher consciousness and the Lord of their hearts. Those who practiced it reaped the benefits through; physical fitness, emotional control, mental contentment and spiritual enlightenment.Yoga means "joined together." The word comes from the ancient Sanskrit root word yug, which means, "to unify." A yogi is one who consciously unifies body, mind, emotions, and spirit so that they work together very well. A yogi endeavors to discover the higher consciousness and how the body, mind, and emotional nature can be truly fulfilled through unifying their purposes - rather than living in constant interior civil war. as much as the Evolution to a vegetarian diet. " Although vegetarianism originated as a religious practice, it has also gained acceptance among many for aesthetic, nutritional, ecological and environmental reasons. Relying on vegetables and other non-meat products are beneficial to many health factors concerning certain chemicals that are present only in meat such as the over-consumption of poisonous nitrates that can lead to strokes and heart attacks. Following a non-meat diet is also healthy because of its non-fattening contents and high protein sources. Many people, including aesthetic, also turn to being vegetarian because of ethical logic that the killing of animals are inhumane. These health factor and ethical beliefs have spread and will continue to spread and bring about more and more awareness of the benefits of vegetarianism. Other factors in the future that may contribute to the growing number of vegetarians include the increase in current numbers of threatened and endangered species in the US that are caused by livestock grazing. Also, animal agriculture is a chief contributor to water pollution since the farm animals produce ten times the waste produced by the human population. Another factor is that many acres of rain forests are being destroyed each year all over the world to create farmland, which I believe us humans can do without if we turn ourselves to a vegetarian diet, or limit the intake of meat products. Buddhist ceremonies are also celebrated during many cultures' New Years Day. In my country, Cambodia, and other countries such as China, Korea, Thailand, and Vietnam, New Years Day is used to commemorate the life of the Buddha by offering different foods and visiting the temples where festive events are held during New Years Eve. People clean their houses and wash their clothes prior to this day to honor the Buddhist holiday.
