The Declaration of Independence and the Speech in the Virginia Convention compare and contrast in content, format, and persuasive techniques. The content of the Declaration was to attack the King of Britain where as the Speech in the Convention was to attack the people of Britain. The format of Henry's excerpt was that is was a speech and was not written down for a record. Jefferson had written a document to keep and save. The persuasive technique of both was good because of the powerful words they used. Both stories were good and persuaded the people.
