People have often wondered where, when and why the universe began and where we came from, Christians believe that god made the earth, all living things and the universe. Scientists try to explain when the universe began by the big bang theory and that everyone evolved from apes. There are two main stories of creation in the genesis. One is from Gods point of view, in which he created the world in six days. 'On the first day he crated light: let there be light, and there was light.' On the following five days he created water, dry land, stars, creatures, air and finally man. In this version of creation it is only linked with God. The big bang theory states that billions of years ago all matter was compressed into one incredibly dense spot smaller than the size of a pinprick, it then suddenly it expanded and is what the universe is today. Evidence of this is that all the planets and galaxies are moving away from each other, this means that there must have been some kind of impulsion at the centre of the universe, like a big bang. Also scientists say that they have found the specific radiation reading that they expected the big bang to have given out billions of years ago. There have been times in history when science and Chris
Charles Darwin was born on February 12, 1809 in Shrewsbury, England. He was the British naturalist who became famous for his theories of evolution and natural selection. Like several scientists before him, Darwin believed all the life on earth evolved (developed gradually) over millions of years from a few common ancestors. universe we live in and the place of humanity within it: so does science. Darwin's theory of evolutionary selection holds that variation within species occurs randomly and that the survival or extinction of each organism is determined by that organism's ability to adapt to its environment. search for truth and understanding as a worthy human. Christians seek to There are a number of different ways in which you can understand the opening chapters of the Genesis, for instance there are those who take the literal approach to Genesis 1. This would mean interpreting that the six days of creation are quite literally six periods of twenty four hours. However, some people take this view metaphorically; the word 'day' as used in the genesis could be an unspecified period of time i.e. millions of years. This view would not contradict the scientific view that the earth is old and would allow for evolution by which God is the means. This can lead to the conclusion that the message of Genesis 1:1-2:3 is theological rather than scientific. It concentrates on the nature of God and the world he created, and his purpose in creating it. The question of how he did it is left open. In recent years historians studying Newton have placed a greater emphasis on considering his personal religious beliefs. Newton was Christian, identifying God not just as a Creator and Preserver of the universe but as an Observer. Newton's commitment to Biblical scripture was al
