In every novel the ending is very important to the reader. The last chapter of the novel can live up to your expectations for the book or let you down. One example of a last chapter in a book that can either satisfy you or let you down is the novel "Great Expectations" by Charles Dickens. The reader can either be happy that Pip and Estella finally joined together or after all you see Pip go through his whole life to achieve his great expectations and then at the end get let down.
