Should people be punished for trying to put food on the table? Well, I don't think so. I want to address a topic that has the rich in an up roar, the squeegee kids. It's true that the squeegee kids don't pay taxes, but it's not like they get health benefits from cleaning windows. Unfortunately these kids are being punished for making an income; nevertheless, they don't pay taxes. And another thing, if the squeegee kids are going to be fined for panhandling, how are the courts going to find these kids to pay the fines. People also have to consider most of these kids are homeless for a reason of escape. Most important of all, it's only a dollar or less, people don't have to pay it if they don't want to. The motorists just have a cleaner windshield. The squeegee kids shouldn't be fined for trying to make money.It's true that squeegee kids do not pay taxes, but they also don't get any health benefits for cleaning windows. Think about it, that dollar is going to help with medical care and also food. Some people might say, "It's going to help them buy alcohol and drugs". That's a choose individuals are going to have to make for themselves. Remember people don't have to pay for the service the squeegee kids provide. Everyone has a good judge of character; pay the one that looks like they need it. Furthermore, most of these kids are homeless for all kinds of reasons, like escape. A lot of these kids were abused at home mentally, physically and even some sexually. These kids are supposed to be the future leaders, and society's not giving them a hand, but pushing them down. Imagine living in a home where there is no love being shown. Living in a house where the people that were supposed to care, just makes these kids feel like their lives are not worth living. Being told, "your stupid" or "you can't do anything right" on a daily basses. Being beaten by the one you look up to. Worse yet, being sexually abused by the one trusted the most.
