Macbeth

Macbeth was an honorable man whom everybody respected. Macbeth was an awesome military leader and fighter. He vanquished King Duncan's enemy and help retain the kingdom. The play of Macbeth showed that Macbeth's ambition on being king resulted in an ultimate downfall. Through out the play he showed that no one could stand in his way toward the throne. Eventually, people realized that it was all Macbeth's fault and he should be eliminated. Macbeth's ambitions started when the witches told of his future and the beginning of the end started for Macbeth. The ambition was small in the beginning, but he became greedy as he listened more and more to the witches.

The 3 witches told Macbeth "All hail, Macbeth, that shall be king hereafter." (Act 1, Scene 3, line 50) and the ideas sparked in his head. The witches also told him that he would get noble titles before he becomes king. In his castle he threw a party with King Duncan and he was named Thane of Cawdor, which was one of the noble titles the witches prophesied. His ambition to be King and some help from his wife motivated him to kill Duncan. The morning after Duncan was killed Malcolm and Donalbain, Duncan

's sons, ran away and left Macbeth the throne. This made Macbeth king and made him realize that the prophecy was true. When Macbeth was king he realize another prophecy about Banquo.

Macbeth's ambitions made him kill a lot of people and knowing this he knew what was to happen to him. His downfall was no surprise. He should have stayed as Thane of Cawdor and probably down the road he would eventually be king. He becomes greedy and rushed his own death. The witches were somewhat to be blamed; if they did not say anything to Macbeth about his future he would have had a great future. His ambitions became more and more intense, as he killed more and know what his future will hold. In the end Macduff kills him and the prophecy were all true. Birnham Wood moved towards the castle because the army camouflaged themselves in tree branches. Macduff was the one who killed him and he wasn't naturally born from a woman.

Act 5 of the play showed that Macbeth had no chance in retaining his crown, because the 2nd and 3rd apparition's prophecy happened. His excessive ambition made him fearless. He was ready to fight to his death. Most of his troops turned their back
