M. L. King

I think a heroe is an ordinary person who has done something to change the way people think about the world or is not afraid to be punisched for their beliefs. It is someone who has ideas that could make life better for another human in any way and has the courage to act on these ideas. Heroe should care about others and shouldn't discriminate against anybody because of differences in beliefs, race or religion.

Martin Luther King Jr. helped black and other races over come segregation in a peaceful way. King is responsible for most of the credit of the civil-rights act.

In 1955 he headed the Montgomery Bus Boycott in which African Americans stopped using buses because the white people would not allow them to sit in the front of the bus. The boycott lasted 382 days,


In the spring of 1968 he was assassinated by James Earl Ray. The assassination resulted in an out-break and riots in over 100 U.S. states. James Earl Ray was sent to jail for ninety-nine years and even though investigations suspect he was not alone, no one else has been identified.

Dr King died but his beliefs and ideas are still actual. He fought for blacks to be able to do what whites did: sit in the front of the bus, or drink out of the same water fountain, or even be able to get jobs where they get paid the same.

Martin Luther King Jr. is a heroe to me because few of my friends are African American. If he hadn't done that then I wouldn't have met them.
