Summary: Lieutenant Henry was an ambulance driver who met Catherine Barkley, a nurse, when he agreed to go with his friend, Rinaldi, to see her. The two talked and began to see more of each other until Henry went back to the front. He was wounded when their camp was shelled. So Henry was taken off the front and put into a field hospital. Afterwards he was moved to an American hospital in Milan, which was not ready for any patients. Once the doctor came back, Henry's leg was operated on and recovered. It just so happen
