From Hear to Heaven
A detailed Summary of From Hear to Heaven
I have progressed greatly over the past two years that I have spent at Rolstor Middle School. My English teachers have been caring, compassionate people that have taught me about expressing my feelings in my work. I believe I have done that in my English pieces. Also in my portfolio are selected Algebra, Social Studies and Science pieces that are my best work from those classes. Not only did I score highly on all of my work, I also feel that I put in extra effort to make these works even better. On all of my pieces I feel that I put in hard work and dedication and was rewarded for it.
For my Social Studies report on Nathaniel Gorham, a Constitutional Convention delegate, I spent many hours researching him in the library and on the web. After gathering information on him, I combined all I had learned about him and wrote my essay which I carefully edited to make sure what I wanted to be said was said.
My two science pieces were based more on the imaginative part of the brain. We had to write two essays, one as journal type, first person description of a landing on another planet in our solar system. My Landing Log was on the planet Pluto. I also have a sor

One work that I am extremely proud of is my Poetry Notebook. This is a combination of my own works and selected works that I feel show different styles of writing, are beautifully written and show many wonderful feelings. Many of the selected works are so well written that you form mental images of what the author is writing about. I tried to do this with my poetry. I chose important parts of my life to write about along with things I love and memories that are still sweet. While writing poetry on topics for this notebook, I wrote many of my own poetry that usually show how my life is like as a teen living in silicon valley, where expectations are incredibly high, while I try to balance two sports all at once. This poetry is sometimes lonely and sad, and sometimes joyous and happy, depending on the occasion.
I feel that overall I did pretty well on my Notebook, but I believe I could have done better. I could have spent more time on my own poetry, making the rhythm and rhyme patterns more fluent. Many of my pieces were detailed, but not completely. If I could redo parts of my Notebook, I would revise my poetry, making it flow and be more detailed.
