Whether or not one is an existentialist, absurdities occur in everyone's lives. It is an inevitable thing that many people don't even realize they have. Absurdness is a part of our daily lives. Although the world does not offer us any stability, safety, or explanations, we continue to seek these comforts from external sources. In my life alone I have observed many examples of the absurd. These absurdities can be found in relationships, schoolwork, and competitions.
Relationships generally tend to possess the most absurdities. More specifically, sibling rivalries are the most common. How many times is someone heard saying, "Oh, how I hate my brother/sister!"? Another facet of life in which absurdities can be found is in schoolwork. On interpretive tests, sometimes the most profound essays will receive low scores, just because the interpretation presented is not the one the teacher was looking for. Then again, sometimes the purest BS will take the highest grades. Even though it may make absolutely no sense at all, it is so eloquently written that its lack of meaning is overlooked. I have been on both ends of both of these tactics. Also, I have observed that some students are able to cruise breezily through school doing barely any work at all.
