ISSUE 2: THE AMERICAN BOMBING F HIROSHIMA AND NAGASAKI- NEED

Since the beginning of time there has been fighting and war, from the Vikings to the Roman empire, and from the Nazis campaign of anti-semitism to Osama's fight to destroy America. But there has been no battle, no crusade of war that has ever been more destructive then the horrific bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. This was a horrible act of destruction which should have been avoided this was a pointless act. The essay will be talking about : The Manhattan Project and the reasons why the Americans created and used the bombs, the deadly effects of an atomic bomb, and how the bomb changed the world forever.

The Manhattan Project was the code name for the US effort during World War II to produce the atomic bomb. Sparked by refugee physicists in the United States, the program was slowly organized after German scientists discovered nuclear fission in 1938, and many US scientists expressed the fear that Hitler would attempt to build a fission bomb. Frustrated with the idea that Germany might produce an atomic bomb first, Leo Szilard and other scientists asked Albert Einstein, a famous scientist during that time, to use his influence and write a letter to president Franklin Roosevelt, pleading for support to further research the

Also the dropping of the bomb changed the way wars have been fought since then. There is always the threat of a "nuc" being dropped.

From 1939 on physicists conducted many experiments and gathered a lot in research to find the answers they needed to make the bomb. Even Einstein himself, a major contributor to the discovery of the nuclear bomb, said that he did not recommend that this bomb be used because the destruction would be unimaginable. But the Americans went on to create the bomb, use the bomb and they are responsible for the whole world living in fear of another atomic catastrophe.

One cannot even try to imagine the pain and suffering that the Japanese people encountered that August 6th morning. As stated earlier in the essay, sometimes man is not aware of the power and destruction that they are able to create. It is pretty scary that something like the nuclear bomb starts off with just theories and scientists and ends up killing hundreds of thousands and scaring a nation. It was said earlier and I will say it again, in no way was the this event a "success". The dropping of t
