I believe that the US should continue to support a public policy that calls for the use of capital punishment. It is necessary for people to be punished for the crimes they commit. The concept of capital punishment is that the worst of criminals are put to death. I feel this is just what people need to deter violent crimes. The design of capital punishment is good because it is a policy that fits the mala in se crimes. The thought behind the death sentence is an eye for an eye type of notion. In many cases, if criminals know that they can just go to jail for a crime, they won’t think twice about it because it is better than their current situation.
