Studies have shown the effects of television greatly impact children and their views on violence and the world. Violence in television has a negative effect on people because violent television instills aggressive behavior in children and adults, causes a loss of reality, and discourages people taking responsibility for their actions.

When crimes are committed people often do not take responsibility for their actions and blame their actions on other things such as television. People who commit the crimes try and shift the blame usually on something else because the person either is trying to get out of the trouble or the person has a problem admitting when they did something wrong. One example of people not taking responsibility is if a person was to steal a car, and eventually got caught.
