Japan has done some really dumb things in it's past, along with the US and a lot of other countries. What makes Japan's past an issue is that it has yet to apologize, for the use and abuse of Philippine, Dutch, and Chinese women as 'Comfort Women'; The Rape of Nanking, and many other things.
