Examine the benefits of radio as a blind medium and illustrate these benefits with references to several current radio advertisements? How can Radio distort the truth through imagination? The most comprehensive advantage that radio has over television is how inexpensive the equipment involved in broadcasting is. For example you could start your own radio station for the price of a computer with Internet access. Where as its main-rival the television is a much more advanced piece of equipment and it would subsidise a more substantial budget to broadcast its own medium. Another advantage the Radio has over the Television is the large array of radios scattered around the country weather it be in the home or in the car, now I'm not making the point that televisions are not as thought after in the home because they are, but I am saying that in a home you would have say 1-3 televisions on average now could you say the same about a Radio? Of course not. Now this is a great aid to advertising because so many people will here the point and if it's a catchy advert it will stick in people's head. A good example of this would be a building site, now while the builders are busy at work they could quite easily have a radio in the background
Again coming to another point to aid with advertising a company I believe, new or old if they produce a good advert it can tickle your imagination and we all no that everybody has a different imagination. If for example you took a glass of water and filled the glass halfway and then asked ten people if the glass was half full or half empty people would give you different answers depending on their state of mind, if they had just won the lottery then they would obviously be optimistic and would say half full, if they had lost a lot of money the would not be so optimistic and would probably say half empty. This would also affect radio listeners because if they were in a good mood then their imagination would be wider and they could enjoy the radio more. A good way to recognise this would be to advertise a fast food restaurant, take McDonalds for instance I think a good advertising campaign would be to take a celebrity who's voice Is well known around the country say Murray Walker and have him say "On your lunch? Why not pop in to McDonalds and have a succulent juicy beef burger with hot melted cheese" with, say a motor racing theme. Now I think this would be a very good way to adverti
