The purpose of Greek tragedies was to teach people to be good citizens. This was done through the tragic hero. Macbeth fits the mold of a tragic hero because he is an extraordinary man, he has a tragic flaw, and he ends up regretting his actions.

The first characteristic of a tragic hero is that they are an extraordinary man. In the beginning of the story Macbeth is shown to be a great warrior. He is so great that he receives praise from the King and is given the title
