Beowulf The European Idol

In the epic poem, Beowulf, written during the Anglo- Saxon period, the main character undergoes many battles in order to become more infamous. He fights three main demons, Grendel, Grendel's Mom, and the Dragon. In the end of the poem, the dragon kills Beowulf. This contributes to his fame in many ways. It lets the common person relate to him better, it shows more heroic traits that he possesses, and he inspired many people by his true identity. For these three reason we can analyze Beowulf as a truly individ warrior.

In order to be famous, you have to be known and appreciated by society. These are the two main goals that Beowulf is trying to accomplish.
