Oprah Winfrey is undoughtably a superior leader. She went through many tough times throughout her life and came out positively. Just like may other leaders today. Oprah also had a intriguing life. That is why I picker her for a twentieth century leader. Undoughtably Oprah is a superior leader because she went through many tough times and she never gave up. When she was young, her relatives sexually abused her. She didn't give up though and to me that's what I think makes her a good leader. Even something as tragic as that, she did not give up. Instead she moved and excelled in school. She made good grades and scholarships to the University of Tennessee. She is a extremely intelligent person with a caring heart. Any leader has to be smart. Oprah is also a caring person but she can maintain her leadership qualities even while she cares. Oprah is also a good leader because when she was sexually abused she turned the negative energy into positive energy by excelling in school. Oprah also set goals and achieved them. Oprah's life was very intriguing. Oprah was born on January 29th in a town from Mississippi. Oprah went to live with her mother when she was six years old. When Oprah went to kindergarten she was skipped to the first grade and after that year she was skipped up the third grade. Oprah kept excelling in school until she was neglected by her mother. Then her neglect lead up to her having trouble in school. When she was being baby-sat by her older, relative she was rapped by him. To make matters worst she was rapped again and again. After that Oprah had low self esteem and wasn't feeling good a bout herself and the things around her. Oprah moved to her dads she was able to turn her life around. Her father was a loving parent that helped her overcome her problems. He pushed her to excel and never give up. He was a positive role model for her, which helped her succeed. She received a scholarship to go University of Tennessee. In 1972, she worked as a anchor woman at WTVF-TV in Nashville, Tennessee. She was really good at her job and always spoke her mind! That was Oprahs part time job while she was going to college. In 1976, she graduated from the University of Tennessee. Shortly after graduating she moved to Baltimore and worked as a news reporter and co-anchor at WJZ-TV. She also did very well at this job too. Oprah became the host of AM Chicago in 1984. She was always good at her jobs because she was able to learn new things at a real fast pace. Oprah is so kind and caring at a few jobs her spontaneous personality got her fired.
