Klu Klux Klan

The Civil War which lasted four long years and left the south honor-less and depressed, lead to the freeing of the slaves shortly after. Poor whites and others against freed blacks feared and rejected this change and wouldn't tolerate it. The Ku Klux Klan, a.k.a. the KKK, formed by whites against freed blacks was and still is a terrorist group, initially consisting of Civil War Confederate veterans who struck fear into the minds of free slaves and others who helped them.

After the Civil War, the slaves were freed and Reconstruction began. This is the time when the KKK was born. The Reconstruction Acts were passed in March of 1867, and at that time, the club known as the Ku Klux Klan officially became a terrorist organization. The original club was formed in December, 1865 in a law office where several white men against freed blacks met and talked about their pro-slavery beliefs, and their full-length official creed was this:

"We the order of the KKK, reverentially acknowledge the majesty and supremacy of the Divine Being and recognize the goodness and presence of the same. And recognize the relation to the United States government, the supremacy of the constitution, the constitutional laws thereof, and the union of the s

The terrorism was supported at first by the south because the south had spent so much money and precious lives fighting for slavery against the north in the Civil War, and they were very disturbed when slavery ended. At this time, a fake KKK was formed by a group of outlaws who were called the "Black KKK" in hopes that the name would frighten away Feds. They were apprehended and thrown in jail shortly after they were formed though.

The Ku Klux Klan terrorized blacks, Jews, immigrants and whites who were anti-slavery and did so using the guise of a ghost. After rising, falling, and rising again, they are still strong. Their numbers are great and in the late 1800s, even the army couldn't suppress them. Will they ever stop the terror?

Though never proven it is widely believed that these men were ex-Confederate soldiers and it is known that their first leader was an ex-Confederate General, Nathan Bedford Forrest. Forrest was believed to manage slave trading before the war and he was believed to lead a slaughter of men, women, and children during the war, this is widely disputed however by many historians. His slave trading allowed him to fund the clan and is one reason why he became the Grand Wizard. The KKK became a great invisible empire of the south by 1869, and Grand Wizard is what they called their Emperor. Then the empire splits into sub-levels: the Realms (states), and the leader of the Realms being Grand Dragons, the Provinces (counties) which were lead by Grand Titans and lastly were the individual Dens lead by Grand Cyclops's. At the height of t
