Martin Luther King Jr.

Martin Luther King Jr. was a very looked upon man. As important in history as he was, we named a holiday after him. Being an effective person in the 60s we will always remember the words that he spoke on the Washington Lincoln Memorial..."I have a dream."

The day he spoke these words at the Washington Lincoln Memorial was a day many lives had been affected. He showed everyone there is more to life than the color of a person's skin. He proved even thought our skin colors may be different, we are all still the same on the inside and do have the same feelings. Like Martin Luther King Jr. said in his speech "for many of our white brothers, as evidenced by their presence here today, have come to realize that their dest


Martin Luther King jr. was a man who believed in equality between races. His speech proves it to us. He speaks of even if things are improved in some way, for Negro's it will still be poor. He says "we cannot be satisfied as long as the Negro's basic mobility is from a smaller ghetto to a larger one. We can never be satisfied as long as the Negro in Mississippi cannot vote and a Negro in New York believes he has nothing for which to vote. No, no, we are not satisfied, and we will not be satisfied until justice rolls down like water and righteousness like a mighty stream. Martin Luther King Jr. proves though there are many equalities, there are still many differences.
