War World I

During the summer of 1914 World War I had begun when Austria-Hungary declared on Serbia. Nobody knew that twenty-one years later another world war would spark. Both wars very different because of the age gap but very alike on the subject of war. World War I began in the Balkans, where Archduke Francis Ferdinand heir to the Austria-Hungary throne was assassinated. Austria-Hungary accused Serbia of the assassination of their Archduke which would spark the beginning of a war. Austria-Hungary gained a promise of support for any action it took against Serbia. A list of demands was then sent to Serbia from Austria-Hungary. Serbia accepted most of the demands. Serbia then offered to have the rest settled by an international conference. When Austria-Hungary did not accept the offer they declared war on Serbia and expected a quick victory. World War II began on September 1st, 1989 when Germany declared war on Poland, Poland being the largest country for the Jewish population. Adolf Hitler had turned Germany into a war machine. Germany now powerful as ever crushed Poland, Denmark, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Belgium, Norway, and France.

World War I and World War II both had Germany on the enemy side against the US. Both of the wars were

Both of these wars ended in a victory when the U.S. entered the fighting although they ended in two completely different ways. WWI ended with a final battle, WWII with a bombing. After both these wars destruction was horrid but peace did come from the wars. Germany was blamed for WWI for ever happening and then it started WWII. Germany was majorly faulted for both these wars. In WWII it was Japan's fault and it they would of responded the bombings would over never taken place. Both of these wars end in a kind of irony of an ending. With WWI Germany had collapsed into a great nothing loosing everything, but the war was over and the Allies won. WWII many people died and much land of Japan was destroyed but peace came out of it. So many casualties were lost in WWI up to ten million soldiers died in the fighting and about twenty-one men were wounded. This all was because of the new technology of weapons like the machine gun. Germany and Russia each suffered about 13/4 million battle deaths during World War I. There also was high property damage mostly in France and Belgium. WWII topped the death loss of WWI and caused more damage too. The Soviet Union suffered about 7 1/2 million battle deaths. Germany lost about 31/2 million servicemen, and Japan about 11/4 million. The atomic bombs did so much damage in Japan wrecking homes, factories, and transportation and communication centers. Almost everything was destroyed in both the wars and so many lives were loss, especially the lives of innocent civilians. The results of both these wars were not pretty, giving the name of two of the most deadly wars ever. They both were so different in warfare, weapons, strategies etc. but so alike in the results after the war. Then final result of both theses wars was ultimate death.

The end of World War I began when the U.S. entered the war. The Second Battle of the Marne was fought from July 15th through August 6th, 1918. It was the turning point of World War I. After winning the battle, the Allies advanced steadily. On August 8th, the United Kingdom and France attacked the Germans near Amiens. By early September, Germany had lost all the territory it had gained since the spring. In mid-September, U.S. forces were led to an easy victory at St.-Mihiel. The last battle of World War I began on September 26th, 1918. About 900,000 U.S. troops participated in heavy fighting between the Argonne Forest and the Meuse River. Ludendorff then realized that Germany could not overcome the great strength of the Allies. The Allies won victories on all fronts in the fall of 1918. Bulgaria surrendered on September 29th; British forces under the command of General Edmund Allenby were victorious over the Ottoman army in Palestine and Syria. On October 30th, the Ottoman Empire signed an armistice or a truce. The last major battle between Italy and Austria-Hungary began in late October in Italy. Italy, with support from France and the United Kingdom, defeated Austria-Hungary. Austria-Hungary signed an armistice on November 3. Germany was about to collapse as the war continued through October. The United Kingdom'
