Teens Should have Birth Control
Many teenagers now are very sexually active and take the risk that comes with sexual intercourse. There are many consequences that come with having sex. First of all, it can cause pregnancy, sexually transmitted diseases and emotional consequences too. (Edelson 50) That is why birth control is an important part a teenager's life today. Birth control can reduce pregnancy and STD's. Teens must be provided with a birth control method to protect themselves and also their futures. Providing teens with birth control will reduce teen birth rates, more teens would complete high school, and in addition prevent U.S. expenses on teen pregnancies. Teens have unplanned pregnancies because either they were drinking, believed they couldn't get pregnant the first time they've had sex, assumed everyone is having sex, and as a matter of fact have unwanted sex. Teenagers who become pregnancy usually have only three choices: They can have abortion; they can put the child up for adoption; or they can have and raise the baby themselves. None of these choices are easy. That is why it is much better if teens are using birth control they won't have to be making these rough choices.
