The People of God begins with its roots in the Old Covenant. God didn't want to sanctify and save people part of a loving and caring community. God's teachings to the Israelites prepared them for the new People of God formed in Jesus' sacrifice. This new covenant is made up by everyone who wishes to be part of a unity in the Holy Spirit.
