In the late 1500's, male authors were constantly writing sonnets to keep up with the famous craze going throughout the hearts of the audience. He discusses that true love is the meeting of the mind, body, and soul. Not only a connection of the physical body. This expresses his value of mental competence. He also discusses that even if a lover's focus changes, love itself does not change. Love is an everlasting, eternal mark in Shakespeare's eyes. All of his sonnets have a romantic undertone.
