The world contains many diseases. Different diseases affect different parts of the body. Alzheimer's disease is a complex disease that affects the brain. Alzheimer's disease is defined by the National Institutes of Health as "the most common cause of dementia among older people. It is marked by progressive, irreversible declines in memory, performance of routine tasks, time and space orientation, language and communication skills, abstract thinking, and the ability to learn and carry out mathematical calculations. This subject interests me because my grandmother who lived with me had this disease during the middle and end stages. I wanted to learn about it and its effects to help my relatives and me help understand this disease. Alzheimer's diseases expected to triple over the next couple of years.
