A detailed Summary of Capital Punishment


1.) To often in this world, society is quick to senseless violence. People who support

capital punishment rally under the banner of "eye for an eye and tooth for a tooth,"

claiming they have some sort of divine right. However, there's the counterpoint of

"love thy neighbor." Taking the life of someone who has taken the lives of others

doesn't bring a victim back to life, nor does it rectify anything in the long run. All it

does it satisfy a moment's lust for blood. Rather than killing someone who has

sinned against society, and relieving them of their debt, why not force them to work

to better the world in which we live. It makes more sense to teach future generations

strive to better the world and work through problems, rather than skirting around

them by getting rid of the guilty party. Should I, by some chance, happen to seize

power of all the world's governments, I would alter their punishments severely. In

the stead of c.p. there could be public labor programs that would improve society and

perhaps "imprison a parasite" and rehabilitate them.
