All Summer in a Day

There are 250,000 children born every day. This is twice as many who die. Overpopulation is becoming a serious problem for the planet Earth and we must find a way to fix it. The story tries to solve this by having people move to Venus, but in the process they must sacrifice the sun. In the short story "All Summer in a Day " by Ray Bradbury, we are reminded by the theme to appreciate the simple things on life.

The day is not that far away in which we must come up with a solution

Pretty soon there will be so many people we will not be able to function as a society. The earth's population is currently 6.9 billion. It is expected to more than double in the next 40 years. It is not that far fetched of an idea that we may have to move to Venus or another planet in the near future. If we do this, there are several luxuries we must give up. The variety of food we are used to and if the technology is not

advanced enough we may have to give up the things in nature we treasure the most, such as the sun, s


The moral of this story is to live each day as though its your last, think of how you reactions will be remembered when you're gone. This report talks about the reality of losing the sun, the impact you can have on someone, and the writers theme. Ray Bradbury wanted us to feel what it would be like to not have the sun. There are so many things we take for granted. Stop and think of all the things in life that impact you the most and be grateful for them.

Who knows when it will be time to die, when close ones will die, or if we'll wake up tomorrow and be blind or deaf. Tomorrow is promised to no one. Something said or done may impact somebody in unimaginable ways. Life is precious.

In the story, Margot, the main character, is made fun of by her classmates. They lock her in the closet with the intention of letting her out. When the rain starts to clear up the get so wrapped up in their excitement that they forget to let her out. Margot was made fun of because she, unlike the rest of the children, came from Earth. She vaguely remembers the sun and tells them about it but nobody believes her. She greatly loved the sun. When the kids accidentally forgot to let her out of the closet, they cost her a joy that would last for the next seven y
