The U.K. seems to have a much worse problem with teenaged alcoholism. In the U.K. kids start to drink before the teen years at about age 11. Six out of 10 boys drink and 50% of girls do. the numbers have continued to rise since the numbers fell in 2000. Kids pick up drinking from their parents and from the people hang around with, and the availability of the drug. The U.S. has one of the biggest variety and quantity of alcohol.
The definition of alcoholism is " a primary and chronic disease with genetic, phycological, and environmental factors influencing the development and manifestations of uncontrollable alcohol use." this definition sees alcoholism as a disease.
In both the U.K and the U.S. there are legal drinking ages. In America it's 21. But in the U.K. it is 16. So I turn 16 in June this year. If I lived
We are no better them, if were talking Onamia against them. But in America as a whole we are much better off. We got programs we can send drunks through and medicine to help them get "unhooked". With programs like Alcoholics Anonymous, and stress medicines like Prozac and this other one that I can't remember off hand. But it make the person throw up if they drink.
Over there in the U.K. there are teenaged drunks who are 11 years old! Twenty percent of them drink as much as 9.3 units a week. That is 9.3 40oz bottles of 50 proof liquor. Now I really know I ain't no drunk cause I could never drink 9.3 bottles of 50 proof. I ain't got it in me.
Well from what I have read about these U.K. kids I guess they drink every night. Kids getting suspended from school, Well more then half are suspended for being drunk at sch
