Criminal Mind

Every person in this world is odd, but when we do something wrong, we feel remorse. There are some of us that do not feel guilt for doing even the most horrible things. These people are called psychopaths. One wonders what can drive these people to act this way. Can we as a society do anything about these people?

Psychopaths are social predators who charm, manipulate and ruthlessly plow their way through life, leaving a broad trail of broken hearts, shattered expectations without the slightest sense of guilt or regret. Their bewildered victims desperately ask, "Who are these people?"(Hare) Although we think of psychopaths as serial killers and murderers, most of the two million psychopaths in North America aren't murderers. (Konrad) Most of them are in most respects regular people. They are people that we see every day and don't think twice about it. Only 5 percent of all psychopaths in America are the Aggressive type. These people are the classic Eddie Haskell of society. They play a part so that you think they are what they really aren't. They make you think that they are moving up in the world or that they are very sweet just so that you will trust them, which only leads. To them cheating you.

The dangerous psychopaths, although few in numbers, are potent in ability. Mostly all mass murderers or serial killers you read about in magazines, books, and newspapers are psychopaths. Psychopaths such as John Wayne Gacy, Ed Gein, and Ted Bundy have all sent fear into the common man. The scariest part about them is that they made the people around them blind to the fact that they could ever do these horrific acts. Gacy would dress as a clown and go to children's hospitals to make

Sociopath tends to be wanderers, or aimless people. They have trouble holding relationships and jobs. Usually a sociopath is somewhat narcissistic. They would have to be to not care about anyone else's Feelings. They would have to think that they are above everyone. This Sociopath are scary enough to know that they are around you and you really can't know it, but what is really scary is when you think about all of the dangerous psychopaths.

What would drive these men to do this? This answer may never be discovered. Looking at some of the stories of the men show that although similar in end result, they all have different views on how they became the monsters that they are. Ted Bundy has admitted to killing over 30 women but may very well be responsible for the death of close to 300. When asked why he did this he really didn't have much of an answer. The only thing that he said was that pornography has made him this way. Jeffrey Dahmer, a man who killed many boys and men and kept their body parts in his freezer for trophies, says that he was just born with something missing in his head. This does seem likely for most of the people but that, in no way, is a real answer. With some of the most sociopath of them all, such as Gacy they turn around the question. They say that its not their fault
