A truck carrying a chain gang runs off the road because another truck blinds the driver and gets sideswipe. Only two prisoners make it out Joker and Noah. Max leads the search for the missing men. Noah is black and Joker is white. They both head off into the forest trying to get free. Max does not want to use dogs at this point; they must be kept on a leash. Every challenge that the prisoners face is twice as hard because they are chained together. They have to work as a team, which did not happen most of the time. The prisoners have a 12-hour head start and the detour makes it another 2 on that. The prisoners find a small town so they wait for the town to go to sleep. They talk about their life and whatever to pass the time. When the town people are asleep they break into the general store to find some tools to get the chains off of them. They knock over a shelf and wake up the whole town they get chased and the mob catches up with them. The mob ties them to a pole instead of lynching them.

Noah starts singing and one of the town people let's them go and said, you tell no one who let you go. Max and the search party trying to find the prisoners make it to the town and ask the people what happened to them and how did they get free. The prisoners ran until they could not run any more. Now the time has come that they are going to fight to get out whatever anger they have. They wrestled around and a boy hunting told them to stop, he had a gun. They take the gun from the boy. When they pushed him he hit his head on a rock, but he was fine.
