Bilbo Baggins character grew much through the book "The Hobbit". Bilbo Baggins went through several tasks that made his character grow. After Bilbo beat Gollum in a game of riddles his became more confident in himself. When Bilbo fought and defeated the spiders he earned the respect of the dwarves. When Bilbo stole the cup from the dragons hoard it showed he was brave and a true theif. Bilbo Baggins was key character in "The Hobbit" and changed much throughout the book.

Bilbos became more confident after defeating Gollum in a game of riddles. Bilbo's task was to solve a riddle that Gollum gave him. If he got the answer he lived.
