A detailed Summary of Nubia


In ancient times, the people living along the banks of the river Nile developed sophisticated civilizations. Ancient Egypt, stretching from the First Cataract to the Mediterranean Sea, is probably the most well known ancient culture in this area, and this group of people were called the Nubians. The Nubian's inhabited the area along the river Nile from the First Cataract south to the Sixth Cataract.

At the present time there is no political entity called Nubia. Part of the area which was known as Nubia is in Eygept and the other part is in the Republic of the Sudan. A large part of the northern part of ancient Nubia currently lies submerged under the reservoir formed behind Eg
