The third voyage is considered the least successful. Structurally, it lacks unity, action; it is different in tone from the others and it is loosely episodic. This leads to tyranny. This is a topic of the modern novel: tyranny. Tyranny brings fear. A third consequence is that fear brings informers and spies. Fear brings violence.
